What's That Exhibit?
There are so many different museums out there these days: art, science,
history, play. What happens when the doors are closed? What goes on
during a tour? Or how about a fundraiser? The guys working and visiting
these halls of entertainment and education are often seen as “the geeks”
or “the bookworms”. What if they’re not? Or what if that’s what makes
them special?

To Know You
Everyone has a mother, and we all have some form of relationship
with the person given the title. What's the relationship between your
main characters and their mothers? Is it easy, rocky, non-existent, or
do they call someone not blood related mother? How do they handle the
time of year when flowers and chocolates and jewelry explode from the
shelves in a rivalry with Valentine's Day?We want stories that tear our
hearts, that warm our souls, that have us scrambling for tissues. Send
us your best stories that showcase the relationship between men and
their mothers.
Deadline for submissions: March 1, 2014
Someone to Savor
Older men need love too. It isn't always about the young lovers.
Just because a man is over forty doesn't mean he's "lost it". Like fine
wine, they should be savored. It could be and older/younger relationship
or two older men finding love. First time relationships or guys who
are finding love for a second time.

Love's First Blush
Spring is a time of firsts...first thaw, first flower bloom, first
love. It's also a time of rebirth. We're looking for those first love
stories; stories of a new love after loss, could be a lover leaving
them tragically (dying) or falling out of love with them. Stories should
end with at least a Happy For Now with a sense of hope.

Book Spotlight~ Waiting for Rain and WIN!
Waiting for Rain
by Susan Mac Nicol
Promo Tour
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
The village of Stamford, the quintessential chocolate box English scene, seemed an impossible dream for foster kid Toby Prentiss. Now he’s found a home among the haystacks and village fairs as the General Manager for the Duck and Drake Hotel. With the fears and demons from his youth hidden away in this bucolic oasis, he’s very protective of who he lets in. Until he stumbles across shirtless carpenter Rain Engel building the hotel’s new custom-designed bar. Working in the countryside, Rain prepared to face his biggest fear: sheep. He didn’t expect to deal with his second biggest fear: commitment. Toby’s controlled, tough guy façade coupled with his “find happiness where you can” optimism calls to Rain like nothing before. While Rain may be an exhibitionist, his romantic history forces him to hold his emotions close. As their relationship develops, secrets from their pasts drive a wedge between them: the ex-boyfriend who tore apart Rain’s trust and Toby's history with the law. But can the secrets hiding among the quirky villagers bring them together? With missing sheep, pole dancing at the winter festival, and a crippling drought, everyone is waiting for Rain.

Welcome RJ Scott today
It’s weird
you know. When the pressure is on to write a blog post all of sudden all my
inspiration flies out the window! So I went looking at some suggestions of what
an author might write about and came up with ‘a day in the life’.
Instead of
a day though, I thought I’d go through my week, don’t worry, it won't be a long
post!
I am a full
time writer, I have been lucky enough to be so for three years now. Not only
that but RJs hubby left the stressful world of IT and also works full time for
Love Lane Books, so it is a family affair.
Each school
day is a study in getting Matt up and out to school then writing as much as I
can before he returns at 4. So that leaves me a sensible six hours writing a
day. Only, Facebook intrudes, and my blog intrudes, and chatting to Meredith
Russell or Amber Kell intrudes, which means some days (Monday in particular) I
can write for five hours solid, but by Wednesday I am easily pulled away by the
shiny! I have a 5000 words a day target, I can meet that on a Monday easily,
some of the other days maybe not so much! Talking about Meredith, we have
Instant Messenger (or whatever it is called now!) on all the time we are
writing, and just every so often we’ll talk. It’s just nice to have her sitting
on the right hand side of my desktop!
When I
write I listen to music on my headphones. This blocks out external noise and I
can only ever listen to music I know well so that the words and tunes just kind
of fade into the background. The headphones are big Sony cordless ones so that
they are comfy and it’s easy for me to move around!
If I get
stuck on a story I will start drawing. Seriously. My sister bought me three
doodle books for Christmas, and I doodle and colour as I think on story lines
and characters. Very therapeutic.
My writing day
is nothing without copious cups of tea, and I actually break for ten minutes
for lunch as well.
I have an
office I share with hubby. It is supposed to be the dining room but it’s our
space for Love Lane Books. I have a cool curved desk that stops my back ache
from becoming too serious, and a huge monitor.
Unfortunately
I also share this PC with Matt who takes it over when he comes home. *sobs*… he
likes the big screen and the headphones, and the fact that we put a ceiling fan
in the office just for him. Bless.
Hope you
liked this little insight into my day…

Welcome Sean Michael today
Drawing
Straws by Sean Michael
I started a
new series with Resplendence Publishing about these four cops who all graduated
in the same class and still get together once every three months or so for a
weekend of no holds barred fun. At the beginning of each weekend, they draw
straws, and the guy who picks the marked straw, is the designated sub for the
duration.
Drawing
Straws: Erik is the first book in the series!
Damon,
Erik, Joe, and Tork graduated together from the police academy. Though they’ve
found their niches in different departments, they’ve kept a tradition alive
that brings them together four times a year.
The four
men meet at Erik’s secluded cabin for a long weekend and draw straws for which
of them is going to be the sub. This fall, Erik draws the short straw for the
first time in a couple of years, and the other three men can’t wait to play Dom
to Erik’s sub.
Will the
weekend go as planned or are the men beginning to tire of the fun and games?
